Following the very interesting talk on “China” on 18 May, this new event will allow one of Taiwan’s most distinguished representatives to trace the relationship between Taiwan & China and to discuss the impact of this relationship on the whole region.
Speaker: Mr. Chien-Jen Chen (King’s, Cambridge 1965)
Mr Chen has degrees from Taipei, Georgetown, Cambridge & Madrid. He has had a distinguished career in foreign affairs in his native Taiwan, being Director General for Information and Government Spokesman 1998/9 and Minister, Foreign Affairs 1999/2000. He has been Taipei’s Representative to the EU and Belgium since 2000.
Venue: The Priory of St Dominic, 40 Ave de la Renaissance, Brussels 1040 (It is well placed near the Cinquantenaire park, within walking distance from the Mérode metro station and opposite the military museum. Parking should pose no problem at that time of the evening. Do not enter through the church, but by the entrance up the road alongside the church).
