January 17th, Annual Dinner
It gives me great pleasure to announce that the Cambridge Society annual dinner will be held on the evening of Monday 17th January 2011 from 19hrs.
We are delighted to welcome journalist and author, Tim Heald as our guest speaker. Mr Heald read history at Balliol and has published over thirty books. Amongst them official biographies of HRH the Duke of Edinburgh and Princess Margaret. Former Chair of the British Crime Writers Association he himself is the author of two renowned series of mystery novels. In addition he has written regularly for Punch, The Spectator, the Times, Telegraph and the Sunday Times.
At this time of the engagement of HRH Prince William and drawing from experience, his theme will be: "Crime, Royalty, Oxford and Cambridge"
We are most pleased that the dinner will again be held at the "Club des Officers du Premier Regiment de Guides", (32, rue d'Arlon, Brussels 1000, close to Luxembourg Station).
We would like all members to feel they can attend (partners welcome, if space allows!). Accordingly, whilst the full ticket price is €60/head, we would like to offer two special concessions. Firstly a special price for the Under 30's of €40/head and secondly the possibility of attendance subsidised by society funds if anyone should be in a position of genuine need (please apply accordingly).
Please reply to this e-mail to confirm your attendance to the Secretary, Caroline Laske, and make your payment to the Cambridge Society bank account (776-5978534-36) mentioning "Annual Dinner". Your participation is confirmed once your payment has been received. (Please note, depending on the flexibility of the caterer, it may be that no refunds for cancellations are made after Monday 10.01.2010).
Dress is black tie or smart evening dress.
On behalf of all the Committee,
Yours sincerely,
Rupert Carter
