Talk "The Genius of Antonio Stradivarius" - 11th December 2013
Ever wondered why Stradivari instruments are so special. Here is a chance to find out: come and join me to listen to the BRIDFAS (www.bridfas.org) December lecture given by fellow alumni Toby Faber (www.tobyfaber.co.uk) on "The Genius of Antonio Stradivarius". This lecture explores the Stradivari mystery by following some of the instruments from his workshop to the present day. It is a story that travels from the salons of Vienna to the concert halls of New York, and from the breakthroughs of Beethoven’s last quartets to the first phonographic recordings.
The lecture will be held on Wednesday 11th December at the
Maison Communal of Woluwe St Lambert, Avenue Paul Hymans 2, Brussels 1200.
We meet at 7:30pm to start the lecture at 8:00pm. Come early and join us for a Christmas drink and pudding.
The BRIDFAS Committee has agreed to offer CamSoc members a discount and you will be paying 10€ instead of the usual 12€ guest fee. Please let me know if you wish to come by the 30h November camsoc.be@gmail.com. Places are limited, hence the first-come-first-serve.
