Oxford Society Garden Visit

6 June 2013, 18.15hrs

Oxford Society member Anthony Martin has organised a private, guided visit for us to the “Jardin Botanique Jean Massart” on the evening of Thursday 6th June. The garden, which is part of the ULB, contains important collections of medicinal and aromatic plants, including many orchids, and is usually very attractive at this time of year. It is conveniently located near Metro Hermann Debroux, which is also served by several bus routes and tram 94, parking is possible. More details about the garden and its access are available here:http://www.ulb.ac.be/sites/musees/jmassart/presentation.html.

There is a charge of €3 per head for the guide, and the tour is given in French.

We plan to meet outside the main entrance at 18.15, the tour will start at 18.30 and last for about 1½ hours. Afterwards there are a number of cafés and restaurants fairly nearby to which small groups could repair; unless there is a lot of demand for a dinner I will leave it to members to organise themselves, perhaps you could let me know when replying if you would be interested and I might then look into what is available with a view to making a reservation. Due to the narrow paths and constrained space at the garden numbers will be limited and places offered on a ‘first come, first served’ basis, please be kind enough to let me know if you register and later find you will be unable to come.

Best regards,
