Talk: Lord Wood of Anfield 2nd September 19hrs
The President and Committee of the Oxford University Society of Belgium would like to welcome you back from the summer vacation with a topical speaker-meeting on social developments in these days of austerity programmes.
Lord Wood of Anfield has kindly agreed to address the members of our society on the issue of inequalities and the concept of pre-distribution as an antidote.
Lord Wood, a fellow of Magdalen and Nuffield, is Shadow Spokesperson and Shadow Minister in the House of Lords advising the Labour Party on strategy and international affairs.
The talk will take place on Wednesday 2 September from 19.00 at the home of the President, 106 Avenue Richard Neybergh, 1020 Brussels (near Bockstael metro, tram and bus-stop – ample parking is also available in Rue Laneau between Avenue R.Neybergh and Place Bockstael – see http://fr-be.mappy.com/#/2/M2/TSearch/Savenue+richard+neybergh+106%2C+1020+bruxelles+(belgique)/N0,0,4.34395,50.87538/Z9/).
Proceedings will follow the usual pattern of reception with drinks and nibbles from 19.00, talk and discussion from 19.30 followed by homemade Chinese dinner at 20.30 for those who would like to stay on.
Attendance at the talk is free for subscribed members of the Society and one guest, €5 per head for others.
Those staying on for dinner will be requested to contribute €15 per head (this applies to both members and guests).
